Gustavo Andrés Vargas Clavijo was born in the municipality of Pueblo Bello, in the department of Cesar, Colombia, in 1994. He is the son of Gustavo Vargas Pérez and Olivia Clavijo Mora, farmers dedicated to agriculture, especially coffee farming. From an early age, Gustavo grew up in an environment of hard work, simplicity, and a deep connection to the land, which allowed him to develop a deep connection with the work of the land.
He grew up with his three siblings, on the family farm, initially called Casa de Zinc and later La Victoria, inherited from his grandparents Antonia Pérez and Nicanor Vargas. There, coffee was not only an economic activity, but a school of life that would shape his destiny. With great effort, Gustavo completed his high school diploma and, thanks to his parents' unconditional support, he pursued higher education, obtaining a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Andina in Valledupar.
Despite his professional training in engineering, his vocation for the countryside and his practical knowledge in coffee led him to pursue a career in the agricultural sector. His produce represents not only his passion for coffee but also his commitment to rural development and the quality of local produce.
Having established himself as a reputable coffee producer and entrepreneur, Gustavo married Angie Pianeta, who has become a fundamental ally in his life and business ventures. Together, they are the parents of two sons: Andrés Vargas Pianeta and Jorge Isaac Vargas Pianeta, the latter a newborn.
The growth of his vision led him to create a company, Unidcafé, through which he has transformed his coffee and those from his region into roasted and ground products. Gustavo fulfilled one of his greatest dreams: exporting twice, with the help of Arcadia, for the first time in 2024 followed by 2025 his own fermented coffee, bringing the flavour of Pueblo Bello to Ireland and Europe.
