Colombia’s coffee production is unique in that it has no easily definable harvest season. The two mountain ranges that run north to south across the length of the country are used as the defining borders between regions, and create individual microclimates that can result in harvesting 365 days a year. This lot is made up of 5 small producers in the Popayan region. Popayan is the capital of the Cauca department and the name comes from the indigenous Quecha people and means ‘Valley of the River’. Timbio is the region just 15km south of Popayan where the altitude and fertile soils provide perfect conditions for growing coffee.
