Karani is located in Kirinyaga county in the central highlands of Kenya. The growers here have the advantage of rich deep soil that was created from the extinct volcano Mount Kenya.
The Karani factory has very high standards and only the very highest quality red cherries are used. The fermentation and sorting/grading of these coffees is a detailed process. A final freshwater soak develops the amino acids within the beans and is thought to contribute to Kenyan coffees unique flavour.
